Bernhard Berger
Co-Head of Arbitration Practice, Kellerhals Carrard
Bernhard is Co-Head of Kellerhals Carrard’s arbitration practice group and focuses on international arbitration and commercial disputes. His areas of expertise include agency, distribution and licensing law, franchising, joint ventures, M&A transactions, oil & gas, construction and international sales of goods. He is frequently appointed as arbitrator and chair in international arbitration proceedings. His experience extends to proceedings under ICC Rules, Swiss Rules, LCIA Rules, SIAC Rules, rules of other institutions, as well as ad hoc and investment arbitration proceedings.
Bernhard holds an LL.M. from Harvard Law School (2001) as well as a PhD (2000) and a degree in law (1997) from the University of Bern. He is admitted to the bar in Switzerland (1997). He is the author of numerous publications in the fields of international commercial arbitration, civil procedure and commercial law. Of particular note is the publication ‘International and Domestic Arbitration in Switzerland’ (4th edition, 2021).
