Mehmet Karlı is a partner at Kabine Law Office, qualified in Turkey and England & Wales. He focuses on disputes and complex international transactions across construction, energy, telecommunications, and banking and finance. He has represented sovereigns, multinational corporations, and high-net-worth individuals before local courts, ICSID, ICC, ISTAC, UNCITRAL, SCIA, LCIA tribunals, and the ECHR, as well as in complex transactions. Dr. Karlı is a member of the ICC Court for a three-year term from July 1, 2024, and an ex officio member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR. His practice also includes prosecuting white-collar crimes and advising on corporate and personal wealth restructuring.
Previously, Dr. Karlı was an assistant professor of international law at Galatasaray University, teaching international law, trade, investment, and human rights, and was a visiting fellow at the European Studies Centre and research associate at Oxford University, where he taught international law and the Middle East. He served on the board of Galatasaray Sports Club (2013–2014). Dr. Karlı maintains an active pro bono practice and lectures on civil rights, liberties, and active citizenship.
